Continuous Improvement Club

Benchmarking and Continuous Improvement (CI) is not new; it is simply a systematic approach to making things better. In fact you will do it instinctively on a day-by-day basis without even thinking about it. For instance, if a colleague suggests he's found a quicker route to the sandwich shop at lunch time, you will automatically want to assess his route against yours, and then implement the improvement for yourself. Benchmarking and CI is a continuous cycle of assessment to identify and introduce improvements.

Internally, measuring projects, processes and systems, is fundamental to the success of any business. It is one of the most effective means to:

  • identify areas of improvement and efficiency
  • provide you with a complete picture of what's happening in your business
  • give a vital voice to your customers
  • allow your staff to be actively involved with taking the business forward and introducing innovation.

However, real benefits can be gained from looking externally...to your peer group, and the industry.

Traditionally, organisations are happy to publicise what they have achieved, but the real value lies not in what's been achieved, but HOW it's been achieved. Having an understanding of the lessons learned from the good and bad experiences, would be incredibly valuable.

Additionally, with both public and private sector clients asking contractors to demonstrate commitment to CI, your approach to it could now mean the difference between winning and not winning future work.

NFB Training has recognised a substantial need for a vehicle to bring likeminded companies together to share best practice and introduced the CI Club.
